NEW GLARUS STATE PARK

Trip made in: May

STATE PARK RATING: NEW GLARUS WOODS STATE PARK

*

Topography and Geology of area-

Compressed sandstone screenings, 2 lakes, prairie, and extensive woods (411 acres).

Common activities:

Camping, hiking, picnicking, bicycling, and junior ranger program.

This park can be driven through in thirty seconds; however, there are several trails. The trails are unkempt and are hard to travel on because of the low lying branches. There is a plentiful amount of picnic benches.

The park is quite dense with low lying branches making the paths very rugged to walk on. When you arrive at the park you can drive through the road into the park in one minute which was very surprising as the road does not interrupt much of the natural wilderness.
