GOVENOR NELSON STATE PARK

Trip made in: April

STATE PARK RATING: GOVERNOR NELSON STATE PARK

****

Topography and Geology of area-

Oak woodland, oak savannah, mesic prairie, wet prairie, marsh, lake, and beach.

Effigy and conical mounds are located along trails in this park (422 acres).

Common activities:

Fishing, swimming, hiking, boating, and picnicking.

My trip continues through the variety of landscapes that this park provides. Tall and shortgrass prairie, beach, and woods. To add to my very interesting experiences as a human being I decided that just walking in the park wasn't enough I had to go one step further and put my werewolf costume on. (April-May)

The capital is easily seen on the new beach that has been recreated. There are also several new centers in the beach area. There is an extensive trail system that surrounds the lake front. It has an interesting mix of woods and tall grass prairie that contain blue birds commonly during the summer.

Here is the great emotion in one of my werewolf poses. (April-May)
Here are some August pictures as the Elders accompanies my brother and I to this state park to relax from all the walking this park provides.
